Every word you search becomes a memory.
01 · Search
Your translator app, retired.
Type a word in your language or the one you're learning. Metis detects which is which and translates it the right way, every time.

02 · Save
More than a definition. A memory.
In seconds, get the translation, a clear meaning, and an example sentence in both languages. A real memory card, not just a definition.

03 · Review
Every word, remembered, forever.
Words resurface on a simple schedule: 1, 2, 4, then 7 days. Reviews mix flashcards, multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and typing the word yourself. Notifications and Home Screen or Lock Screen widgets bring a due word back to you. Recall it once after a full week away and it graduates to Learned, for good. Along the way, watch what you've learned add up: this week, this month, this year, and everything still in progress.

04 · Together
Learning sticks when it's shared.
Add friends and it stops being solitary. Send them a word worth knowing, challenge each other to recall it, and see how many words each of you has learned. Mutual words surface on their own, proof you're both reaching for the same phrase in different conversations.

05 · Metis
We didn't want another app competing for your attention. We wanted the quietest possible way to remember a word.
That's the whole idea behind Metis.
Is Metis free?
Yes, to start. A free account learns one language with up to 10 words in progress at a time, and every word you learn frees up a slot. Premium adds more languages, unlimited words and collections, and widgets.
Which languages does it work with?
More than 50 to pick from, and almost any other through "Other". The app itself speaks 21 languages.
Can I type in my own language?
Yes. Type in either language and Metis works out which one it is. The card is always about the word you're learning.
What if I miss a review?
Nothing is lost. The word waits for you. If you get one wrong, it comes back after the same gap again instead of starting over.
iPhone and Android?
Metis is on the App Store now. Android is coming soon.
Where do my words live?
In your account, so they follow you to a new phone. See the privacy policy for the details.
